Contortion

Contortion

It’s important that students understand and learn how to safely become more flexible. My contortion workshop is available for students who are wanting to build a proper flexibility foundation, improve tightness or have stopped progressing in their flexibility.

The workshop is NOT about forcing the flexibility but incorporates mobility into the stretches which are gentler and help release the body. As well as step by step proper progressions so students are not getting injured by pushing themselves in dangerous ways.

Be assured that we work very slowly on every stretch as we focus on correct body alignment and how to then transfer that to skills.

Our hand-balancing class is for children aged 7+. There are many variations of the handstand, but in all cases, handstands must maintain adequate balance.

Once the basic handstand is mastered, you can progress to learning the art of hand-balancing, which requires a great deal more strength both upper body and core to balance.

Hand balancing can be performed on the floor, blocks or canes and can involve standing on one hand, or twisting and bending the body to create shapes. This discipline is often performed in conjunction with contortion and acrobatics.
