DanceStep is the next step for young acrobats aged 10 and up who are ready to step beyond the class and into a role that actually means something.
Each week, DanceStep students assist in our younger classes, working alongside our teachers to support, encourage, and connect with the little ones just starting out. But it doesn't stop there. They'll also develop real-world leadership and communication skills: how to give clear instructions, how to read a room, how to make a three-year-old feel brave enough to try something new.
At 10, 11, 12, kids are at a pivotal point. They're figuring out who they are, what they're good at, and where they belong. DanceStep gives them a place to belong that's entirely their own. Not school, not a screen, a real space where they contribute, they're trusted, and they matter. For a lot of our young leaders, that turns out to be exactly what they needed. Parents often tell us DanceStep changed how their child carries themselves, at the studio, at school, and at home.

Students develop real leadership skills and learn how to guide and inspire others — essential qualities for teaching dance and working with younger students.
Through teaching and working with peers, students build confidence in themselves and learn the patience needed to support dancers at every level.
Students gain hands-on experience teaching dance, learning how to break down skills, give feedback, and adapt their approach — building a strong foundation for a future in dance education.

DanceStep has changed my life in ways I never expected. Teaching alongside Miss Mikaela and the team has pushed me to grow in confidence, discipline, and leadership. I am so grateful for this opportunity.
I have been a part of DanceStep for 3 years now, and it has shaped me into the person I am today. Being 17 years old and having the opportunity to teach and mentor younger dancers is something I never thought possible. DanceStep has given me skills in leadership, communication, and confidence that I carry with me every single day. I am so proud to be part of this program and cannot wait to see where it takes me.
